We are happy to hold the 22nd Asian BioCeramics Symposium (ABC2024) in Kitakyushu. Bioceramics based on calcium phosphate, silicate glasswa and so on are useful for the repair and regeneration of hard tissues such as bones and teeth, and their importance has increased in recent years as we have entered a super-aging society. At this conference, engineering, medical, and dental researchers from the Asian countries will gather together to discuss the latest achievements in research and development and clinical applications of bioceramics.
  Furthermore, in the production of the bioceramics, mild processes close to ambient temperature and pressure are often used to enhance their biocompatibility. Therefore, it is expected that the findings from bioceramics research will lead to the development of novel environmentally-friendly materials. Kitakyushu City, where ABC2024 will be held, has faced serious pollution problems in 1960s, and has promoted technological development related to environmental conservation and environmental load reduction through collaboration between industry, academia, and government, and disseminated it to the world as an "Environmental Capital." Therefore, at this conference, we are also planning a symposium on environmentally-friendly material design in collaboration with the Green Material Research Center, Kyushu Institute of Technology.
  Kitakyushu city is also easily accessible from all the Asian countries. We look forward to your participation.
