Symposium Overview

"Special Symposium for Celebration on the 10th Anniversary of the Division of Ceramics in Medicine, Biology and Biomimetics, The Ceramic Society of Japan” in conjunction with “9th Asian BioCeramics Symposium (ABC2009)" will be held in Nagoya, Japan from December 8th to 11th at Nagoya Congress Center.
  Bioceramics and related fields are developing these days. “Division of Ceramics in Medicine, Biology and Biomimetics, The Ceramic Society of Japan” was established in 1998. On the other hand, “Asian BioCeramics Symposium” has been held annually since 2000.
  For the development of bioceramics and related fields, the collaborations in the Asia area is essential. Therefore, the conjunction of "Special Symposium for Celebration on the 10th Anniversary of the Division of Ceramics in Medicine, Biology and Biomimetics, The Ceramic Society of Japan" and "9th Asian BioCeramics Symposium (ABC2009)" was proposed.
 This symposium is aimed to provide the opportunity when Japanese and Asian researchers studying bioceramics and related fields can discuss and exchange the information. The themes of this symposium are Ceramics for medical application, Biomimetic ceramics, Dental ceramics, Ceramics for environment, and so on. Any studies about bioceramics and related materials can be acceptable.

日本セラミックス協会生体関連材料部会10周年記念特別シンポジウム
「人工骨用セラミックスの開発を先導した研究者、臨床医の熱意」
(Special Symposium for Celebration on the 10th Anniversary of the Division of Ceramics in Medicine, Biology and Biomimetics, The Ceramic Society of Japan)

生体関連材料部会は平成10年（1998年）に発足以来、医療やバイオテクノロジー、環境と材料の境界領域において、生体と関連する新材料の科学と技術の発展に関与してきました。本部会の活動も10年が過ぎ、これを機会に部会のさらなる発展が期待されます。そこで、部会発足10周年を記念しまして、来る2009年12月8〜11日の間、日本セラミックス協会生体関連材料部会10周年記念特別シンポジウム（共同開催：第9回アジアバイオセラミックス会議（ABC2009））を名古屋にて開催いたします。
12月11日午後には、「人工骨用セラミックスの開発を先導した研究者、臨床医の熱意」をテーマとして、人工骨用セラミックスに関して先導的な研究をされ、我が国の人工骨用セラミックスの発展に多大なる貢献をされた5名の先生方をお招きし、人工骨用セラミックスの開発および実用化にまつわる御講演を頂くことにしております。人工骨用セラミックスを実用化された先生方の熱意に触れられる良い機会ですので、多数の御参加をお待ち申し上げます。
