Language

The working language of the Congress is English for presentations and papers.

 

Climate

The temperature in Osaka during the period of the Congress ranges between
9 - 17 degrees Celsius.

 

Credit Cards, Traveler's Checks and Currency

Major credit cards like VISA, MasterCard, Diners Club, and American Express are widely accepted at hotels, department stores, shops, restaurants and nightclubs. Traveler's checks are accepted only by leading banks and major hotels in principal cities, and the use of traveler’s checks in Japan is not as popular as in some other countries. Only Japanese yen (JPY) is acceptable at regular hotels, stores and restaurants. Currency exchange is possible at major hotels as well as at foreign exchange banks and other authorized money exchangers.

 

Tipping

In Japan, tips are not necessary anywhere, even at hotels and restaurants.

 

Electricy

Electric current is uniformly 100 volts, AC, throughout Japan, but with two different cycles: 60 in western Japan including Osaka, Kyoto, Fukuoka and Nagoya, and.50 in eastern Japan including Tokyo.
